Cycles Of Life
Creating the back matter for the Collector’s Edition of Whiskey Witches, I realize now why some readers are frustrated with the lack of “witchiness” in Whiskey Witches. There’s a sense of connection in the process that I’ve always just taken for granted. That connection is feeling low and having to pull yourself out of it no matter what. It’s just always been a thing I’ve done. But the other night, I wrote a very heart-felt version of When To Cast and discovered that missing piece.
I’m going to actively try to insert that back into my work because it’s important. Connection matters. You knowing that I understand how you feel means a lot.
Which is why I thought instead of going through harvesting practices and rituals even I don’t follow, I thought I’d touch on cycles in this last book. Every day is a different path in the Cycle of Life, and there are a lot of them. There are moon and sun phases, seasons, life, motherhood… The list goes on.
When you’re casting, use the energy of the cycle you’re in to help you move forward, but if you’re in the wrong moon phase, for instance, don’t let it stop you. It’s still energy. It’s not like using diesel in a gas engine. It might change your focus. If you’re trying to build in the waning moon, use the act of letting go of old limiting mindsets to move forward.
Find ways to move forward and grow.
